Many clients have been referred by medical professionals like physios, osteopaths and chiropractors.
Heidi’s aim is to help you move better for life and reduce the incidence of pain long term by discovering imbalances in the body and reprogramming the body to function better. Poor posture and compensation patterns can often lead to imbalances in the muscles where some muscles become overworked and tight, whilst others become weak causing injury overtime.
Heidi uses specialist Pilates equipment including the reformer, cadillac and arc barrel. They provide support for the spine and pelvis, assisting in flexibility and give feedback for better movement. They have springs, pulleys, bars and straps to assist movement, create tension and allow muscles and joints to lengthen and move in ways not possible on the mat. This allows us to either increase the challenge of a Pilates session or it can help move joints and muscles beyond their normal range and assist in rehab.
Work 1-1 on the reformer to identify poor movement patterns, areas of weakness and inflexibility. These areas are then targeted with corrective exercises to do at home.
